There’s Something About Mary is an American film about a man who tries to find a woman who he has had a crush on for 13 years, however his attempts are constantly flouted by other men pursuing Mary, or just plain bad luck.

I have to start by saying that this film had one of the most gruesome comedy moments I have ever seen: when Ben Stiller is in the toilet, and does up his flies, which causes a large amount of blood loss… (I think you can figure out what happened there.) It made me cringe so much!

Anyway, this film was a typical comedy, with a totally predictable storyline and ending, filled with ridiculous mishaps throughout, however every single incident, although extremely annoying and frustrating to see, was actually quite funny and original, making it much more enjoyable to watch.

Overall, I’ll give this film a 7.5 because although it was annoying, predictable, cringeworthy and clichéd, it was actually a very funny comedy, and surprisingly entertaining to watch.
