West is West is a British film, and the sequel to the brilliant 1999 film East is East, about a young boy whose father takes him back to his roots in Pakistan, so that he can discover who he really is.
That synopsis sounds really cheesy, and the story of the film actually is, however the majority of it involves lengthy talking sequences, without any real jokes or anything in them, making it often very boring to watch.
Whenever jokes did come up, they were quite funny, however the story was neither funny nor intriguing enough to make me keep my attention throughout, which meant that I missed out on the other occasional joke or interesting scene.
This film is a little bit of a let down in comparison to East is East, and although it was in all a very dull and boring film, the occasional joke was very funny, so that’s why I’ll give it a 6.
