You Again is an American film about a woman who discovers her brother is marrying the girl who bullied her brutally in high school, and while the marriage is readying itself for wedding day, she tries to expose her nemesis for the bully that she truly is.
This was a really fun film to watch! Despite being incredibly cheesy in terms of the overall concept, as well as having a very predictable story line, I felt that it created a very entertaining and comical atmosphere, through some great writing and comedy throughout.
The idea of two (or even more) women constantly partaking in total sabotage of one another always seemed very funny to me, because the reasons for which this would happen are usually pretty meaningless, making their conflict all the more farcical, and therefore ten times funnier, and the fact that there were numerous stand-out scenes and jokes really helped to make the film a lot more entertaining.
Also, I thought that the characterisation was fantastic. Everybody had a credible and funny backstory, which contributed heavily to their involvement in the story, making it easier and once again, more enjoyable to follow along.
However, I will say that if you’re looking for an original and clever film, don’t come anywhere near this, because it was just totally predictable all the way throughout, however if you want something that’s funny, simple and stupid, this is perfect, so that’s why I’ll give it a 7.
