Drinking Buddies is an American film about two best friends, working in a brewery who are perfect to be with one another. However, they are both in relationships of their own, but when they begin to break down, they start to improve their relationship together.
I found this film quite boring. I could see that it was meant to be both a relatively entertaining comedy, as well as a dramatic story that talked about relationships and the problems people encounter while in them, however it was these two very clashing atmospheres that made me feel that this was just boring to watch.
If the comedy was perhaps a little better, then the overall feel and mood of the film would have been more light-hearted and entertaining, however as it developed throughout, the story began to veer away from being more comedic than anything to being a very serious and ultimately quite depressing story.
Luckily, this wasn’t the most predictable film ever. What seemed like a normal sort of romance story did have a few clever twists and turns in it, however they just weren’t good enough to make up for the fact that the film as a whole was just boring and irritatingly unfunny to watch, so that’s why it gets a 5.8 from me.
