Le Diner de Cons is a French film, which is the basis for the film Dinner For Schumucks, and it is about a man who is invited to a dinner, and is told to bring an idiot along to make fun of them, however when he hurts his back, and his wife leaves him, his idiot arrives to help.
It’s interesting to see how Hollywood often adds many extra scenes to an original story to make it more entertaining, and in this case, it appeared to work. Obviously, the story is quite good, but the presentation of this film was quite poor, and not very entertaining to watch in my opinion.
I founnd the film initially enjoyable, however it never lives up to the starting storyline, as they never end up going to the diner du cons, which was a little disappointing, as I was waiting for the whole film.
Also, there were some very long-winded and overly stupid jokes and scenes, that I just became very bored with, and along with a relatively null story, I didn’t enjoy this too much, so that’s why I’ll give it 6.1.
