Angel Heart is an American film about a private detective who is hired to track down a man called Johnny Favourite, however many things seem to go wrong, and because of that, it becomes very difficult for Johnny to be found.
This was quite an interesting film. I really enjoyed the story; I thought that it had lots of good unexpected twists and turns, especially the big one at the end that I did not see coming, and although it was often a little confusing to get a hold of, it was still an entertaining film.
I felt that Robert De Niro really played a good role as the mysterious and elegant man with the suspiciously long nails (which I noticed early on in the film, and I thought it was just a continuity error or something, but it’s actually quite a clever subtle touch.)
Also, I wasn’t sure whether it was entirely necessary to set this in the 50s, but it was probably to make the whole thing much harder for the detective without computers or anything more technological.
Overall, I’ll give this a 7.6 because I found it quite odd and confusing, but it was still very interesting and entertaining to watch.
