Close Encounters Of The Third Kind is an American film about a man who experiences a UFO sighting, and along with others that have suggested this, he tries to convince the world that we are not alone, but after nobody believes him, he sets out to discover the truth for himself.
This was a really cool movie. I would say that this is up there with some of the ultimate alien movies, and I was really impressed with the quality of the special effects in this film, especially due to the fact that it was made in 1977, the same year as Star Wars…
The story was also very interesting, and although it did become a little drawn out towards the end, it was still fascinating to follow, and it was written so well that you really wanted to follow Richard Dreyfuss’ character all the way to Wyoming too.
The weird thing about this film is, though, it affects you psychologically too. I went for a walk in my local park just after watching this, and I was freaked out by how I kept seeing that weird shape in tree stumps everywhere.
Anyway, overall, I’ll give this a 7.9, because it was a really cool film to experience, it had a great story, interesting characters, and fantastic special effects!
