Scott Pilgrim vs. The World is an American film about a boy who, in order to date the girl of his dreams, must defeat her 7 evil ex-boyfriends in a battle to the death.
This was possibly one of the most entertaining films to watch. Edgar Wright is a comic genius, and his subtle jokes such as the fast cut and random words popping up on the screen are a delight to see.
The storyline of this film was so ridiculous and farcical, yet the way that it was put into such a video game-like world made it seem oddly believable. All of the special effects were fantastic, and that made the viewing of this film possibly one of the coolest I’ve ever seen.
Also, the incredibly fast pace of this film makes it extremely exciting and adrenaline-filled to watch, and even though the story was in the end quite predictable, it was a joy to follow, as the comedy it was filled with was just so hilarious!
Overall, I’ll give this 8.3 because it was an extremely cool film in my opinion, and along with fantastically funny comedy and one of the most fun stories ever, I loved every minute of this!
