Robot & Frank is an American film about a time in the near future, where an aged jewel thief is given a robot designed to look after him. However, the man decides to use the robot’s skills to give him a chance at a last hurrah at a heist before he gets too old.
This was a very confusing film to watch. I had three different mindsets while watching this film. I had been informed that it was a comedy, however I also saw it as a drama, and by the end, a bit of a crime/action story, so it was very difficult to keep track of the film while I was judging everything three times over.
The film itself was also quite dull. I thought that the ideas and the design was very convincing, suggesting to me that this sort of robot butler technology is possible within the next 20 years (I’ll regret saying that in 2033…), but as a film to watch, it wasn’t the most entertaining ever.
Overall, I’ll give this a 6.3, because although it had some cool concepts and other things, I felt it was very confusing, and also not the most thrilling thing in the world to watch.
