Liar Liar is an American film about a divorced man who always breaks his promises to see his son, so the boy wishes that his father cannot tell a lie, so that he won’t break his promise, however this causes havoc for the man’s professional law career.
I found this film very cheesy and quite annoying to watch, even though it was relatively funny and entertaining to watch, but the story was very basic and predictable, with a completely preposterous principal concept, so it wasn’t that great.
The most annoying thing about this film was probably Jim Carrey. He’s normally quite funny, but he was really overdoing it in this film. It was the sort of crazy character that he did in The Mask, but it was just seemingly inappropriate for his character here.
Also, the son was really annoying, and eerily similar to the little boy in The Shining, which made the whole thing seem a little more sinister than I would have liked, so because it was just a very annoying film, although occasionally funny, I’ll give it 6.3.
