Dinner For Schmucks is an American film based on the French film ‘Le Diner de Cons‘, about a man who after being promoted is invited to bring an idiotic friend of his to a dinner where businessmen make fun of stupid people, however he realises that although someone may be stupid, they can still be a good person.
Paul Rudd and Steve Carell are possibly my two favourite comedy actors of the last nine years, so I was really excited to see a film with the two of them in it, and they were great, but the film itself was a little disappointing.
The film had no real story, which made it quite boring to watch, and the majority of the movie was just very predictable, and along with a near-2-hour long running time, it was definitely quite boring to watch.
However, for a bit of fun comedy, this was very good. Once again, the jokes were all very typical and predictable, but it was just a normal sort of comedic film that was relatively enjoyable to watch, but against a poor story, I’ll give it a 6.4.
