Man Of Steel is an American film about a man who, after being sent to Earth from his home planet as a child, must defend the Earth with his powers against invaders from his own home race.
I have to say that this was one of the most disappointing films I’ve ever seen. I know that this film had a budget of around $200m, and in my opinion, it all appeared to be wasted on crazy special effects and super-duper 3D.
Don’t get me wrong, the special effects were fantastic, and I was in awe of the film for the first half an hour or so, but when they just keep pushing all of this 3D and massively in-your-face ultimate fight scenes, it becomes extremely unpleasant and frustrating to watch.
Also, the story of this film was just completely stupid. In comparison to the old Superman films, which were much tackier and cheesier, but had better storylines, this was just a really boring film to watch, especially as it went on for 2 hours 23 minutes, so I didn’t enjoy much at all.
Overall, I’ll give this a 6.6, because it didn’t live up to the older Superman films, proving that brilliant special effects can’t make a film completely brilliant, and it was just an irritating and boring film to watch.
