Donnie Darko is an American film about a troubled teenager who keeps having visions of an evil rabbit that forces him to commit crimes. The rabbit then tells him how long it is to the end of the world, so the boy prepares himself for the end.
What a weird film. The picture definitely had an interesting concept, with an intriguing principal character, and the idea of a boy having hallucinations of an evil bunny rabbit telling him to break the law was surely one of the most bizarre things I have ever seen.
The story of this film was indeed interesting, however I found that the way it was presented was just a little dry and boring. Evidently, the film was meant to be very evocative, however I felt that it was actually very difficult to connect emotionally with the character of Donnie Darko, making it a little less exciting than I had hoped.
Overall, I’ll give this a 7.6 because although it had a good story with original ideas and concepts, it was a little boring to watch for the most part in my opinion.
