The Big Year is an American film about three men who compete to see the most different species of birds throughout a whole year, and two novices must face up against the all-time world record holder and champion.
This was a very average film. The comedy was alright, however the majority of it was just very predictable, and the story was very poor, with almost every scene being obvious as anything.
The cast choice was also a little strange, Steve Martin, Jack Black and Owen Wilson are all very funny, however I didn’t really think that they fitted their parts too well, as I think that Owen Wilson could have been one of the nicer guys, and Steve Martin the champion, but that’s just me.
Overall, I’ll give this a 6.0, because although it was very occasionally an enjoyable film, it had very mediocre comedy, an extremely poor story, making it just a very typical and predictable film.
