The Watch is an American film about a group of friends who set up a neighbourhood watch, and are immediately faced by a giant alien invasion, so they must defend the whole Earth themselves.
This was surprisingly very funny. At first, this film seems like quite a typical, stupid alien comedy, however as it progresses, it gets a better story, and it gets much funnier. Although it wasn’t the most original idea ever, it seemed like a well written story, with some hilarious comedy and other fantastically ridiculous scenes.
The final fight scene against the aliens was completely ridiculous, and although it was very gruesome, I thought that the idea of having to shoot these aliens in their private parts to kill them was an absolutely hilarious idea.
One of my main wonders of this film was why was Richard Ayoade in it? He’s not a great actor, he’s just a great comedian, and he wrote Submarine, which was very funny, but anyway, he was still very good in this.
Overall, I’ll give this 7.5 because it was actually very funny, with some hilariously stupid scenes and ideas throughout, along with a pretty decent story…
