I Give It A Year is a British film about a young, but unhappy married couple who give themselves the target of making it to their first anniversary together, however a few things distract them from their main goal along the way.
This was brilliant! I thought that this was going to be another unfunny rom-com like Four Weddings And A Funeral (the main downside of that is that it has Hugh Grant in it…) but it was much much funnier!
In comparison to the happy and feel-good rom-coms from across the pond, ours are a little more depressing and realistic, with the entire story designed to be as cringeworthy as possible, and I definitely felt that A LOT while watching it.
However, it was still absolutely hilarious, with some of the jokes being completely ridiculous, and even more of the jokes being eye wateringly funny, and that caused me to be falling off of my chair at nearly every point of the film.
Overall, I’ll give this a year… (Ha Ha.) No I won’t, I’ll give this a 7.9 because it was brilliant, fantastically sadistic for a rom-com, however it was also hilarious, even though I was cringing a lot when I was watching the film.
