Wag The Dog is an American film about a Hollywood producer, and one of the President’s right-hand men, who team up to fabricate a new war with Albania, intending to cover up a recent sex scandal, just days before the upcoming presidential election.
I really thought that this was a cool story, and the idea of fabricating a war by using the movies sounded like a preposterous but possibly realistic idea, so I was intrigued to see how it would have worked out in practice.
However, I don’t think that this film will go down as one of the most memorable films I have ever seen, as the story was presented in quite a dull way, with very little room for excitement or any tension, when there definitely could have been some.
Also, with top actors like Robert DeNiro and Dustin Hoffman, I expected this to be fantastic, but it wasn’t really, it was just relatively entertaining, with a good story, and some good jokes for the comedic side to the film, but it was overall a little disappointing, so I’ll give it a 6.8.
