Easy A is an American film about an intelligent high school girl who turns to creating rumours about herself to be spread around school in order to increase her position in the school’s hierarchy.
I was surprised by how entertaining this film actually was, as it is just a stereotypical American film about teenagers and their amazing social lives that are apparently so important, but actually, they managed to make it seem a little more original.
Obviously, whenever anything directly about romance or relationships turned up, my brain just fell to sleep, because it was so cheesy and obvious, I couldn’t be bothered. However, luckily, this film did not focus as much on relationships and stuff like that as I expected, instead, it focussed on one girl and her own opinions about what she was doing at school.
I also enjoyed this film a lot more than normal because many of the jokes, the majority of which were pretty hilarious, were a lot more intelligent and interesting than your average high school ‘flick’, which was definitely a welcome surprise.
Overall, I’ll give this a 7.8 because it was a very enjoyable film, with an interesting plot line, along with good jokes throughout, even though it was very cheesy at many parts throughout.
