Slumdog Millionaire is a British film which tells the story of a young Indian boy’s life up to the moment he wins 20 million rupees on the show ‘Who Wants To Be A Millionaire?’.
This film was stunning. I’ve always enjoyed Danny Boyle’s films, but never this much, and I found how every story from Jamal Malik’s life was a clue to the answer on the gameshow a really intriguing concept.
The depiction of Jamal’s deprivation in the slums of India was very interesting, however the way that he always stays strong throughout his life made me feel very happy inside.
Although the entire film is in reality a love story, which I am not usually that excited by, the way Jamal and Latika’s relationship was shown was actually really interesting, and I found the ending of the story at the end of the film one of the happiest movie moments I have ever seen.
Overall, I would view this as my favourite film of all time (so far!), as it was excitement and intrigue from start to finish, and it even made me be interested in the romance for once, and although there’s still 357 days to the end of the year, this is already going to be hard to top.
