The Campaign is an American film about a long-serving congressman whose North Carolina seat is challenged by naïve nice guy, Marty Huggins.
Well, this was a pretty average film in my opinion. The entire story was totally predictable, including the ’emotional twist’ at the end of the film, and the jokes throughout were only adequate, and for two great comedy actors as Will Ferrell and Zach Galifianakis, it was a bit of a let down.
Obviously, the occasional surprising scene which involved foul play between the two campaign teams of the opposing parties was funny, however they were just too occasional, which meant that the film did not feel very funny to watch throughout.
Overall, this was quite disappointing, however when the jokes were right, they were very funny, but it needed to either be more stupid or more serious, as it seemed to be stuck between satirising politics heavily, and making stupid jokes, so that’s why I’ll give it a 6.4.
