After Hours is an American film about a normal man who finds himself in one of the worst nights of his life after meeting a suspiciously insane woman at a cafe.
Well, this film was so weird it was actually unbelievable. Bringing in an already bizarre storyline, this movie managed to come up with some of the most worrying, unpredictable and ridiculous ideas I’ve ever seen.
Firstly, I have to say that this film was perhaps too unpredictable. Of course, I thought that the aspect where the main character was completely out of his element was indeed interesting, however the fact that so many ridiculous things kept happening out of the blue nearly every second meant I quickly became frustrated, as it became difficult to really get any sort of grip on the story.
Also, this film is extremely tiring to watch. It’s got a relatively short running time, but it really drags on, so by the end of the film, when everything decides to kick off even more than it already has done by then, I felt too tired to really concentrate.
Nonetheless, the idea of this film was indeed very original, intriguing and occasionally very mysterious, some qualities that you don’t find in the majority of stories nowadays, so because of that, I’ll give this a 7.0.
