The Dark Knight is an American film and is the sequel to Batman Begins. In this film, Batman and his allies in the Gotham Police Force find themselves facing The Joker, a criminal mastermind intent on bringing Gotham City to its knees, and its people to his own criminal levels.
Wow. This film was incredible to watch. It was as if the makers had said that they wanted everything about Batman to be ramped up to 20 on the dial, and they succeeded spectacularly, as everything about this film was stunning.
The Batmobile became ten times cooler, the characters were all deeper, more fascinating, and extremely symbolic, and the whole thing was absolutely packed with completely chaotic and mad action all the way through, making this perhaps the craziest, yet most exciting films I’ve ever seen.
In comparison to the previous film, the story this time was unbelievable. It was filled with incredibly tense scenes, along with amazingly unpredictable twists, and just mind-blowing action and complete madness, that was fantastic to watch.
I’ve also got to say that Heath Ledger’s performance as The Joker was stupendous. The way he managed to portray the character as not only a superhero villain, but as well as a completely insane criminal mastermind, who was in fact often quite scary to witness executing his cunning plans to cause chaos in Gotham City.
Overall, this gets a 9.3 from me because it was an incredible, action-packed thrill ride all the way through to watch, being entertaining, exciting, eventful, unpredictable, and just most of all a brilliant film.
