Now You See Me is an American film about four magicians who rob banks during their shows, and after they are discovered by an FBI agent, a lengthy chase ensues to bring them to justice, but with their magical powers, it’s not as easy as it seems…
This was surprisingly disappointing. The problem with this film was it tried way too hard to be clever; to confuse you throughout before revealing a big twist at the end, which was meant to shock you, but it wasn’t that surprising, and relatively predictable, and seeing as the story was just overly complex and odd, it wasn’t a great reward for having followed the whole thing.
Despite that, it was quite an entertaining film to watch. The CGI was pretty cool, the magic tricks that involved the audience were enjoyable, and there were some very funny scenes throughout, however it still lacked heavily in a sort of wow factor, which you would really expect in a magic film.
As well as that, I felt that the characters were poorly developed, the settings were confusing (I kept thinking Paris was New York and vice versa), because there was too much hopping around, and it was all in all just an overly confusing, and preposterous film to watch, so that’s why I’ll give it a 6.7.
