Seeking A Friend For The End Of The World is an American film about a man who sets out to find a his high school girlfriend before the impending armageddon arrives, and he is accompanied by his neighbour who helps him along the way…
I have to say that this was a little disappointing. This film wasn’t the funniest that’s ever been made, the story was pretty poor, it was often a little boring, and a bit depressing too, and even though there were some very funny scenes throughout, it wasn’t too enjoyable.
It was also a little strange to see Steve Carell (aged 52) and Keira Knightley (aged 28) fall in love, because it just seemed way too unlikely, even for a film, and that concept was definitely a bit of a distraction for me while watching this, so I couldn’t enjoy it as much as I would’ve liked.
As well as being quite a boring storyline, the film was very anticlimactic in my opinion. I understand that the end of the world would too be quite anticlimactic, but this film ended so abruptly that it annoyed me quite a bit, but then again, I imagine that the end of the world would annoy me too…
Anyway, overall, I’ll give this a 6.1, because although it was occasionally funny, it was a very disappointing and dull film to watch in my opinion.
