The Birds is an American film about a woman who goes to meet a man at his home on the California coast, however when she arrives there, she encounters a swarm of evil birds that are attempting to kill every human on the ground.
This is definitely not one of Hitchcock’s best. It wasn’t anywhere near as tense as his other films such as Psycho, but it was still an entertaining film to watch in my opinion.
The problem is, the film was made in 1963, and because of the fact that they used birds seemingly made of papier-mâché, it took away the horror element for me, and in the end, it seemed like an episode of Doctor Who gone wrong.
Anyway, despite the poor special effects, I enjoyed this film, as it had an interesting and original story, while the characters were also all very interesting, and there were some great scenes in this film where it was actually quite scary to see swarms of birds everywhere, so because of that, I’ll give it 7.7.
