Butter is an American film about a competition in Ohio which celebrates peoples’ skill in carving butter sculptures, and after a legendary sculptor pulls out of the competition, his wife decides to enter to keep her family the title, however she must defeat a young, orphaned child and a cunning stripper to win the crown…
This was a very funny film. It had an extremely strange concept, and I’m not even sure if the Ohio State Excellence In Butter Championships are real or not, but if they are, I would love to see that.
The comedy in this film was brilliant, with all of the characters being so opposing that they were perfect to be set in a competitive situation, especially the highly-strung woman, who decided to take a small, adopted child to a legal discussion just so that she wouldn’t win a competition about butter? (That’s how ridiculous this film is…)
Obviously, when you have a film just about butter, you can’t really expect the greatest story of all time, and that was the case here, but even so, this was a very enjoyable and funny film to watch, so overall, I’ll give it 7.3.
