I Love You Phillip Morris is an American film about a man who, after coming out, becomes a conman to keep up with his lavish lifestyle, but after he is sent to prison, he meets a man with whom he falls in love, and will do everything for him.
Firstly, I didn’t know that this was a true story until the end, so it was definitely a fascinating story to tell and to follow in my opinion. However, the film itself was very boring in my opinion.
Apart from a few good jokes, the majority of the comedy was pretty poor and irritating, as was the overall atmosphere of this film, as the way that Steven Russell just kept on going back and forth to and from prison every year or so was really annoying to watch.
Of course, both Jim Carrey and Ewan McGregor gave excellent performances, even though his Deep Southern accent was possibly one of the most annoying things I’ve ever heard, but overall, this film was quite poor in my opinion, and not the funniest ever, so I’ll give it 5.8.
