The Incredible Burt Wonderstone is an American film about a magician who breaks up with his long-time magic partner, and falls to rock bottom, due to the popularity of a new, more radical magician.
This was hilarious! I loved every single bit of comedy in this film. The story wasn’t the greatest ever, but the film itself was a great joy to watch in my opinion. The writing was fantastic, and there are some scenes in this film that I would view as absolute classics, because they’re just so funny.
Also, it was funny how all the characters just seemed to be an attack on real-life people, such as Jim Carrey’s character Steve Gray, was a mick-take of street magician David Blaine, doing completely preposterous, stupid and dangerous stunts, and disguising them as magic, and that really made me laugh a lot.
I have to say how weird it also was to see Steve Carell play a mean guy. He normally plays a nice/depressed man, or a complete idiot, so it was strange to dislike Steve Carell’s character for once.
Overall, I’ll give this an 8 because it was definitely one of the funniest films I’ve seen all year, and despite having a relatively null story, it was extremely entertaining to watch throughout.
