Cruise Of The Gods is a British film about a failing actor who is forced to go on a fans’ cruise for an old kid’s sci-fi TV show which he appeared on decades ago, and he ends up meeting his more successful co-star along the way.
I loved this film! It was the typical cringeworthy BBC comedy-drama, with some great actors in it, who I felt were absolute perfect fits for all of their characters, as it seems to me that they resemble them in real life. Rob Brydon and Steve Coogan were excellently funny, and James Corden and David Walliams were hilarious as the nerdy organisers of the cruise.
I also really enjoyed the story of this film, as it is evidently a very realistic thing that probably happens with fans of such shows as Star Trek or something else, and it was also very funny to see how the actors responded to their loving, yet extremely annoying fans.
From time to time, however, this film did get a little boring, with some lengthy sequences with no jokes in at all, just some dialogue that was partly entertaining, but it was overall a very funny and enjoyable film, so that’s why it gets 7.2 from me.
