The Life Aquatic With Steve Zissou is an American film about an ocean explorer, Steve Zissou, who sets out on a mission to find and potentially kill the shark that ate his friend on a previous mission, however he gets caught up with many problems on his boat along the way, including suspecting a young man of being his real son.
Usually, Wes Anderson + Bill Murray + Complete Farce = AMAZING. However, in this film I just felt bored for the whole thing. It wasn’t the funniest thing ever, even though some of the jokes were quite funny, and the story was just way too dull for me to keep complete focus throughout.
I don’t find any of that oceanography stuff like Jacques Cousteau at all interesting either, so that may have been something that was there in my mind, however it seemed as if the entire plot was too disjointed and dull, while it was unable to make it any funnier.
Overall, I’ll give this a 6.3, because it was relatively funny, and I do love Bill Murray in these sorts of films, but it was a very boring story, which was just not that entertaining to watch in my opinion.
